I’m Cat, the designer behind Paper Cat. I’m a solution-oriented designer who believes good design should do more than look good—it should solve something. I bake intention into every decision, from the big-picture strategy down to the tiniest detail.

I’ve been a professional designer for more than 15 years, working both in-house and independently to create brands, campaigns, and visual systems that connect with people and work in the real world. My background in Journalism also gives me a love for words and storytelling, so when a project calls for a tagline, brand voice, or supporting copy, I can bring those pieces into the process, too.

Ultimately, I like to make things that are thoughtful, useful, memorable, and maybe a little unexpected.

The Process

  • Every project starts with a conversation. We’ll schedule a phone call, video call, or meetup to talk through what you’re working on and where you want to go.

    Before we meet, we’ll ask for a few basics, scope, timeline, and budget, so we can make the most of our time together.

  • During our initial conversation, we’ll dig into the specifics: your goals, your brand, your audience, and what success looks like for the project.

    From there, we’ll provide a project estimate and contract outlining the work ahead.

  • Once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid, we’re off to the races.

    This is where the thinking, making, refining, and occasional happy accidents happen. We’ll guide the project from concept through completion, keeping the work intentional and the process collaborative.

  • Once the project is complete and the final balance is paid, we’ll package everything up and send over your final files.

    For branding projects, that also includes a Brand Guide to help you put your new identity to work confidently and consistently.
